Who am I? Why am I not content with my life?
From an early age I travelled the world looking for answers to these questions. I devoured personal development books and tried various modalities - Japanese Martial Arts, Holotropic Breathwork, The Sedona Release Technique, Art Therapy, Family Constellations, "The Work" of Byron Katie - to name but a few!
In the late 80's I came across one that describes a simple yet profound model of the psyche. It is called Voice Dialogue and allows us to experience the many opposing selves or energies that make up our personality. On a relative level Voice Dialogue is a wonderful tool to help us understand and deal with life's challenges. I became hooked and for over 30 years facilitated and trained people in this methodology.
Yet a nagging question remained: In this multiplicity of shifting inner selves where is the true "I"? Little did I know that this exploration of the dualistic nature of the psyche would finally lead me to the non-dual teachings of Advaita and a direct understanding of the Self.
