My name is John Kent. I was born in London and have lived and worked as a communication trainer, seminar leader and facilitator in Europe, Africa, Asia, South America and USA. I have over 40 years experience in helping people improve both intra-personal and interpersonal communication.
I studied Voice Dialogue with its creators, Drs. Hal & Sidra Stone, in the USA and Europe. From 1991 to 1995 I co-founded the Voice Dialogue Centre of Tucson, Arizona and taught Voice Dialogue in San Francisco. After returning to London I founded Voice Dialogue UK and continued to conduct Voice Dialogue workshops and private sessions with individuals and couples. In 2010 I created the first Voice Dialogue Online Program.
In 2016 I discovered the non-dual teachings of Rupert Spira and realised that, as well as a powerful psychological methodology, Voice Dialogue could also be seen as a progressive path tool, helping us to realise our true nature: the Self in which all our selves have their being.
Join me for a mini-retreat, explore these questions in depth, and gain a bigger perspective on your life.
Your process starts with a zoom session ahead of the retreat so that I can to get know you and understand the issues that you would like to work on. Topics might range from challenges around your personal or professional relationships, to wider questions about the purpose and meaning of your life. During the retreat I will hold a safe physical and emotional space and help you to investigate, understand and resolve whatever might be troubling you. The process is gentle and non-directive and moves at whatever pace feels comfortable for you.
I will draw from my experience of the different modalities I have studied and practiced over many years. Sessions will particularly be informed by my understanding of Voice Dialogue and the Psychology of Selves and by the non-dual teachings of Advaita Vedanta. I will select the most appropriate exercises to help you focus on your particular issue.
The mini-retreat takes in my home in Kew, West London close to the Royal Botanical Gardens - a World Heritage Site. Accommodation is provided in a small self-contained studio in my garden with its own private entrance, bathroom and cooking facilities. Daily sessions are held in the main house – a late 19th century cottage originally built for Queen Victoria’s gardeners.
The mini-retreat is very intensive and takes place over 2 days. Arrival is the evening before the first day. Each day runs from 9am to 5pm with a break for lunch. There will be a total of 14 hours one-to-one time with John.
I am semi-retired and only offers this mini-retreat a few times a year. Dates can be organised to suit your schedule.
